My New Fishroom in Penang Island, Malaysia

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”
~~ Mark Victor Hansen
Yes! I am back in Malaysia this year after 8 years in Germany facing world of obstacles. This time I am in Penang Island. Temperature is pretty warm and humid in Penang Island where the breeze and winds from the ocean seems influenced the yearly weather. I am having problems with the weather myself…. and I can imagine how suffer those killifish and wild betta in this temperature if no further action been made.
So, I started to plan slowly, stage by stage with help from my fish friends in Penang, Jai. Jai is one of the top Betta breeders in Malaysia. Anyone wants good quality show betta, just find this guy in Penang. Thru internet communication, we started searching and researching for my new apartment there.
Jai was my main references as he knows what I need thru my killifish and wild betta hobby. He found the right spot at last. An apartment surrounded by forest and hill. I have been told by Jai, the apartment is cooling down during the day and evening. That is what I want for myself and my fish.
Within one week Jai managed to find the right location. Photo shows the new apartment that needs a lot of work. Basically, these are my plan:

Welcome to my shack. This is my new home in Penang Island.

Entrance. Great spatial, yet to be converted into my killfish room.

Living room angle 1. Another area that will be converted into showroom.

Living room angle 2. More species will be in here.

Second bedroom. Won’t take long to convert this space into fishroom.
